Ragi / Finger Millet Dosa is one of our traditional food and the key ingredient is millet. It is one of the healthiest whole grains and it is packed with rich nutrients & vitamins. The brightest morning starts with a healthy breakfast for getting energy for the day. Millets are several types, Finger Millet, Pearl Millet, Foxtail, and Jowar.

Ragi / Finger Millet Dosa

Start a day with Ragi Dosa– A healthy Breakfast is more important for leading a healthy life. Try this Ragi Dosa and have a healthy life.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Ragi
  • 1/4 cup Urad dal
  • 1 tbsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 2 tbsp Cooked rice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Add Ragi, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds in a bowl. Wash it thrice with the running water and soak well with sufficient water for about 3 hours.
  • After 3 hours of soaking, wash it again with the water.
  • Add the soaked ragi, urad dal, and fenugreek into the mixer grinder and add 3 tbsp of cooked rice. Grind well into the smooth batter by adding little water.
  • Add salt and mix well. Cover with the lid and leave it for the whole night to get nice Fermentation.
    The quantity of batter gets double after fermentation. You can store it in a refrigerator and use it for a week.
    Ragi / Finger Millet Batter is ready. 
  • To make Ragi Dosa:
    Heat an iron Dosa Tawa and sprinkle little cold water. You will hear a shhh sound. Now your Dosa Tawa is ready to make Dosa. 
  • Take 1 cup of ragi batter, and add 1/4 cup of water, Mix well. The consistency of the batter should not be too thin or thick. Pour 2 spoons of Ragi batter and Spread the batter thinly in circular motion to get crispy ragi dosa.Spread a tsp of ghee in the corners. Allow it to cook for 2 min.
  • Gently flip the Ragi dosa to the other side and cook for a min. Crispy Ragi Dosa is ready.
  • Healthy ! Ragi / Finger Millet Dosa is ready. Serve it with Coconut chutney, Pudina / Mint Chutney, Groundnut Chutney, and Sambar.

Step by Step pictorial method to make Ragi / Finger Millet Dosa Batter :
