Wheat Rava Kichadi

Wheat Rava Kichadi is a complete nutrient-packed meal Wheat Rava is nothing but broken wheat. In Tamil Nadu, They call it Samba Rava or Godhuma Rava. It looks like a golden sooji and has a plain taste which is too healthy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup Broken wheat Rava
  • 1/4 cup chopped beans
  • 1/4 cup chopped carrot
  • coriander leaves
  • curry leaves
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 3 nos Green chiles
  • Rava : water ratio = 1:3

Instructions
 

  • First, Chop the carrot and beans and keep them aside. Heat a pan to add oil, ghee (you can skip it ), mustard seeds, green chilies, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • Add the vegetables with turmeric powder, and salt. give a mix and cook for a min. Then, add the chopped tomatoes and cook well for another min.
  • Once the tomatoes become mushy. add 1.5 cups of water and cook for 3 min. once the water gets boiled, add the broken wheat rava slowly and give a mix. Allow it to cook for 5-6 min until the water gets evaporated.
  • Give a mix and add a tsp of ghee. (skip adding ghee if you are vegan)
  • Add the chopped coriander leaves. Mix and serve it hot with sambar, chutney and vada as a side dish that gives you a delicious combo for breakfast.
