Ragi Murukku Recipe | Finger Millet Murukku
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Ragi Flour
- 1/4 cup Rice Flour
- 1 tbsp Besan flour
- 2 pinch Asafoetida
- 1 tsp Hot oil
Instructions
- Add Ragi flour, Rice flour, Besan flour, Chili powder, Sesame seeds, and salt to the bowl. Mix it all together. Then, add oil and mix well.
- Gradually, add a little water to the dry ragi flour mix and knead well to make ragi murukku dough. The dough should neither be too tight nor too sticky.
- Take the murukku star mold. Grease it with the oil. Add the ragi murukku dough into the murukku mold. Squeeze the murukku mold in the laddle. keep it aside.
- Heat a Kadai with enough oil. Once the oil gets heated up, gently place the murukku in the oil and cook until the sshh.. sound reduces.
- Then, gently flip to the other side and cook until the bubble stops. Drain the excess oil and repeat the same process with the remaining dough.

Step by step pictorial method to make Ragi Murukku Recipe | Finger Millet Murukku :
- Add ragi flour, rice flour, besan flour, chili powder, sesame seeds, and salt to taste. Mix it all together.
- Then, add oil and mix well.
- Gradually, add the measured water to the dry ragi flour mix and knead well to make ragi murukku dough.
- Take the murukku star mold. Grease it with the oil.
- Add the ragi murukku dough into the murukku mold. Gently press it.
- Squeeze the murukku mold in the laddle.
- Heat a Kadai with enough oil in medium flame. Once the oil gets heated up, gently place the murukku in the oil and cook until the sshh.. sound reduces.
- Gently flip to the other side and cook until the bubble stops. Drain the excess oil and repeat the same with the remaining dough.
