Mint Puliyodharai Rice Recipe is a spicy, sour, fresh mint aroma with a mixed spice flavor Rice. It is mainly prepared in the south Indian states. We can offer it as a neivedhyam on special occasions. I, add Mint Puliyotharai Rice Recipe as one of the neivedhyam on Varalakshmi Pooja days.
It is a Quick Lunch box recipe to make within a few minutes. Pudhina Puliyodharai is one of the simple rice Mix recipes that can be prepared and mixed with hot steamed rice. Refrigerate the Mint Puliyodharai paste in an air-tight container and use it for up to 10 days.
Mint Puliyodharai Rice Recipe
Ingredients
Mint Puliyotharai Mix
- 2 cups Mint leaves
- 10 Nos Garlic cloves
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Coriander seeds
- 2 tsp Whole Urad dal
- 3 nos Red chilies Add or remove chilies. it is up to ur spicy level.
- 1 inch Tamarind
- 3 tbsp Gingelly oil
- Salt to taste
Mint Puliyotharai Rice :
- 2 tsp Gingelly oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard and split urad dal
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Channa dal
- 1 tbsp Peanuts
- 1 cup Cooked Plain Rice
- 2 sprigs Curry Leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions
Mint Puliyotharai Mix :
- Heat a pan, add 2 tsp of gingelly oil, 10 nos garlic cloves, 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1 tsp of coriander seeds, 2 tsp of urad dal, 3 nos of red chilies, 1 inch of tamarind. Saute well in medium flame until urad dal turns golden brown color.
- Add the mixture to the blender and Blend it into a coarse paste without adding water. Keep it aside.
- Heat the same pan, add 1/2 tsp of gingerly oil, add the cleaned mint leaves, and saute well until the raw smell goes away. Add the mint leaves to the blender. blend well with the masala into a coarse paste.
- Again, Heat the same pan with 2 tbsp of gingerly oil. add 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds and 1 tsp of cumin seeds. Add the ground Puliyotharai mint paste, and salt. cook until the oil gets separated.
- Yummy !! Spicy, Tangy Mint Puliyotharai Mix is ready. Refrigerate the Mint Puliyodharai paste in an air-tight container and use it for up to 10 days.
Mint Puliyotharai Rice Preparation method:
- Heat the wide pan. Add 1/2 tsp of gingelly oil. Once the oil gets heated up, add 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp of channa dal, 1 tbsp of peanuts, and 2 sprigs of curry leaves and cook for about 2 mins.
- Once the mustard seeds get popped out and the channa dal turns golden brown color. Add 1-1/2 tbsp of Mint puliyodharai paste and mix well. Then, add the steamed Plain Rice, and salt to taste.Gently Mix the rice with the mint puliyodharai paste. Yummy! Mint Puliyotharai Rice is ready to serve!

Refrigerate the Mint Puliyodharai paste in an air-tight container and use it for up to 10 days.
Mint Puliyotharai Mix Rice Preparation :
Step 7: Heat the wide pan. Add 1/2 tsp of gingelly oil. once the oil gets heated up, add 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp of channa dal, 1 tbsp of peanuts, and 2 sprigs of curry leaves and cook for about 2 mins.
Step 8: Once the mustard seeds popped out and the channa dal turns golden brown color. Add 1-1/2 tbsp of Mint puliyothari mix and mix well. Then, add the steamed Plain Rice, and salt to taste.
Step 9: Gently Mix the rice with the mint puliyotharai paste.
Yummy! Mint Puliyodharai Rice is ready to serve!
