Vazhakkai poriyal / Raw Banana Fry
Ingredients
- 2 Nos Raw Banana
- Enough cooking oil for fry
- 6 Nos Shallots
- 1 inch Ginger
- 6 Nos Garlic pieces (medium size)
- 1 No Green Chilli
- 1 tsp Fennel seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp Poppy seeds
- 1 tsp kashmiri chili powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Few Curry leaves
- Coriander leaves
Instructions
To prepare Masala :
- In the Blender , Add, shallots, Cumin seeds, fennel seeds, curry leaves, poppyseeds, Green chilli , Ginger , garlic blend well into a fine paste and keep it aside.
Raw Banana fry
- Peel the skin of the raw banana and, cut them into thin vertical slices.
- Heat a pan with enough oil and deep fry the raw banana for 2 -3 min , strain the excess oil and keep it aside.
- Now, take a Kadai, add 1tsp of oil, 1/2tsp of mustard, urad dal, curry leaves. then, add the grounded masala paste, and stir well until the raw smell goes away.
- Then, Add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of Kashmiri chili powder, 1 tsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp of garam masala powder, salt, mix well. Add 1 tbsp of water and cook well for 5 min.
- Once the oil gets separated, add the fried raw banana pieces and mix and roast well for 10 min. saute well in the intervals. Garnish it with the coriander leaes.
- Serve it hot with plain steamed rice, dal fry, rasam is the wonderful combo. even you can have with plain curd rice gives you the flawless taste and fullfilled meals.
Step by step pictorial method of Vazhakkai poriyal / Raw Banana Fry :
